Easy on The Eyes, Easy on the Wallet, Easy to Install
The Quality was exceptional. Well packaged, exceptional bearings. I was admiring the smooth bearings in the axle piece even before assembly, and they allow the sturdy vanes to move in the slightest of breezes. Gustier winds make for very fast motion, but not overly so, so it seems there's a spillage of some wind force. It has an interesting design in that it seems to rotate horizontally in a somewhat random fashion, not staying as constantly turned into the wind as I would have thought. This is a pleasing effect though. I can imagine an optional design for a wind vane maintaining a more constant direction, but the minimalist design is pleasing to behold.
Construction is very sturdy, and not as delicate as it appears in the videos or pictures, with thick vanes and sturdy bearings. Looking forward to a second Stanwood Wind Sculpture, perhaps next year. We'll have to see how well it holds up to our tough Midwest Winters.
